On December 6-7, 2024, a significant event in the field of legal education took place – the Ala-Too Moot Court Competition on Digital Law, organized by the Jurisprudence Department of the AIU with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.
The competition brought together students from leading universities in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, highlighting the high level of legal culture in the region. Dozens of teams applied for participation, but the top 10, who presented their universities, passed the qualifying stage:
- Ala-Too International University
- American University of Central Asia
- International University of Central Asia
- Osh State University
- Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University
- NARKHOZ University (Kazakhstan)
- Suleyman Demirel University (SDU, Kazakhstan)
The panel of judges included more than 20 highly qualified specialists: lawyers, academics and civil servants. The final round was evaluated by a panel of three judges, including the Deputy Director of the State Agency for Personal Data of the Kyrgyz Republic under the Ministry of Digital Development.
The participation of teams from Kazakhstan gave the competition an international status, strengthening cooperation and exchange of experience in Central Asia. The event became an important platform for the development of students' legal skills and interaction between universities in the region.
