On October 31, 2024, first-year students of the English Language and Literature Department held a class in honor of Halloween. They decorated the class with autumn accessories and holiday symbols, and also came in costumes. During the class, students learned more about the origins of Halloween.
Halloween is an ancient Irish tradition rooted in the past. The Irish believed that ghosts came to Earth that night, so people dressed up in costumes to blend in with real monsters. They also carved a pumpkin to make a lantern to ward off evil spirits from their homes.
