On November 22, 2024, at 14:40, the Philology Department invites to a guest lecture of Zhyldyz Bekbalayeva on the topic “Humanities in the digital age: tools, methods and ideas”.
The introductory lecture will discuss the ways in which digital tools transform the study of language, literature, culture and history. Special attention will be paid to data analysis, visualization, digital archives and computational methods that open up new horizons in the humanities.
The lecture will be conducted by Dr. Zh. Bekbalayeva is the director of the AUCA Library, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) and a Fulbright Prize winner. In 2017-2018, she was a visiting fellow at Georgetown University and is a board member of the International Library Consortium EIFL.
