Scientific and practical conference MEET 2024

On December 4-5, 2024, the scientific and practical conference MEET 2024 was held on the basis of two universities in Bishkek – KSMA named after I. Akhunbayev and AIU, as well as with the assistance of KSTU named after I. Razzakov.

The idea of the conference arose a year ago, when the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics of the AIU, in cooperation with the KSMA, proposed to hold a joint event. The main goal was to go beyond the traditional format and expand participation opportunities for both faculty and students.

The organizers set themselves the task not only to select relevant research areas that lecturers and students are engaged in, but also to offer interesting and non-standard formats for the presentation of the results achieved.

This is how the name of the MEET conference appeared, reflecting not only the concept of meeting professionals and students, but also being an abbreviation of key areas: Medicine, Engineering, Education, Technology.

Various event formats were presented during the conference:

  • MEET STUDENTS is a special student conference where participants demonstrated their research, innovations and ideas in the fields of medicine, engineering, education and technology.
  • MEET SCIENCE – scientific presentations, seminars and discussions on advanced research and development.
  • MEET TALKING is a Science Slam format where scientists in a non–academic form talked about their research in a fascinating and popular science manner.
  • MEET EXPO is an exhibition of innovative projects, products and services, where participants could not only get acquainted with new products, but also establish professional contacts.
  • MEET ANTI-SCI is a creative platform for discussing absurd and underestimated topics by the scientific community with a serious approach.
  • MEET AWARDS is an award ceremony where participants evaluated each other's work and selected the best projects.

Radmir Gumerov, Coordinator of the Center for Innovative Developments and Research, noted that the event was held at a high level. He stressed that the conference made it possible to bring together students, teachers and researchers from different universities to share knowledge and experience. The participants were able to present their innovative projects, discuss current scientific issues and receive valuable advice from experts. Radmir Gumerov also noted the importance of non-standard formats such as Science Slam and exhibitions, which made the conference not only useful, but also fascinating.

In addition, the organizing committee of the conference plans to release an interactive journal that will preserve the highlights of the event and convey the atmosphere of scientific interest that prevailed at the conference.
