On December 6-7, 2023, the Osh State University hosted a seminar “Development of financial autonomy of universities in Kyrgyzstan” of the DEFA project under the Erasmus+ program, which was held in a hybrid offline-online format.
The aim of the seminar is to study the prospects for increasing the financial and economic independence of universities in Kyrgyzstan. The project partner participants discussed strategies for developing the financial autonomy of universities and a roadmap for implementing the model of financial autonomy of universities in the Kyrgyz Republic.
We reviewed the mechanisms for selecting personnel and forming the staff based on the experience of OVGU, heard reports from partner universities, summarized the activities of the DEFA project for the first year and drew up a plan for further action. The project consortium included 12 universities in Kyrgyzstan, two international educational institutions in Germany, Italy and an Italian public organization.
