On November 29, 2024, the International Relations Department of the AIU hosted a guest lecture by former diplomat Muktar Dzhumaliev on the topic “Multilateral trade negotiations: A Kyrgyz Diplomat’s Perspective”. The event was organized within the framework of the course “Theory and Practice of Diplomacy and Negotiations” and brought together 4th year students, undergraduates, members of the IR club, as well as representatives of other faculties.

Dr. M. Dzhumaliev, a diplomat with 28 years of experience, delivered a lecture covering the main aspects of multilateral trade negotiations. He spoke in detail about the importance of diplomatic protocol, cultural and economic diplomacy, as well as the skills necessary for successful work in the international arena. The interactive format allowed students to actively ask questions, to which the speaker gave detailed and practical answers.

A significant result of the lecture was the agreement of Dr. M. Dzhumaliev to become a mentor for 10 students of the department within the framework of the mentoring program, as well as his desire to continue cooperation with the IR club.
