Frequently Asked Questions

Every year, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic sets threshold points for enrolling applicants in higher education institutions. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the threshold score on the main (ORT) test is 110 points.

In addition to the main test, for admission to the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, the AIU requests the results of additional tests in mathematics and physics. Also, the results of additional tests in biology and chemistry are required for admission to the Faculty of Medicine. The threshold scores for additional tests are 60 points.

The AIU does not provide budget places for training. However, the university offers tuition discounts ranging from 5% to 100%, taking into account the results of the ORT, academic success and financial situation of students. The full list of discounts can be found here.

After completing the acceptance of documents, the university conducts an internal English test to determine the level of knowledge of the language. Students who successfully pass this test are enrolled in the 1st year. Students who do not reach the threshold are enrolled in a Foundation Course. Those who have provided official TOEFL (IBT 60 points), IELTS (6.0 points) or Duolingo (100 points) certificates are enrolled in the first year without a test. The university does not conduct any other additional entrance tests.

AIU partners provide dormitories for nonresident and international students, which are conveniently located near the university.

According to the Order on admission of applicants of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the selection and enrollment of applicants to higher education institutions begins in July of each year.
