On February 3, 2024, the intramural rounds of the Almaty Student Competition on Commercial Arbitration were held at KIMEP University, School of Law.
In these rounds, 4th-year students of the Department of International and Business Law of the AIU Urmatbekova Akbermet, Kuatbek kyzy Aidai and Mamyrkulova Anara were awarded the nomination “Best statement of claim”, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, oratorical abilities and the ability to analyze legal documents.
In the context of the game trial, 16 teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan acted as prosecutors and defense, having prepared procedural documents on the plot of the case. Each team, consisting of 2-5 participants, carefully analyzed the plot of the case, developing significant procedural documents, including a statement of claim and a response opinion.
The refereeing was carried out by the acting arbitrators. The competition was organized by the law firm TOO Tukulov and Kassilgov Litigation (TKL) in order to provide students with the opportunity to start their career and get acquainted with dispute resolution in practice. The active participation of students in this event is an important stage of their professional development, which allows them to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and gain valuable experience in the field of legal dispute resolution.
