On April 16, 2024, the international conference “Abdurazakov Readings - Diplomacy and Education”was held in AIU, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the 100th anniversary of the formation of modern Kyrgyz statehood.
Ishenbai Abdurazakov is an outstanding diplomat of Kyrgyzstan, who left an indelible mark in the history of diplomacy. He is the only holder of Japan's highest award – the Order of the Rising Sun on a Large Ribbon, I degree, for significant contribution to the development and strengthening of Kyrgyz-Japanese relations and cooperation, awarded in 2008.
Rector of AIU Zhyldyzbek Zhakshylykov made a welcoming speech, briefly highlighting the goals and mission of the university. The conference was attended by close friends, associates of I. Abdurazakov, representatives of diplomatic missions of foreign countries, as well as faculty and students of the university.
I. Abdurazakov's son Avazbek Abdurazakov in his speech mentioned his father's school years and his desire for greater knowledge. He also spoke about the milestones of diplomatic work as an eyewitness.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Hideki Goda, highlighted the contribution of I. Abdurazakov to strengthen friendly relations between Japan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia during his diplomatic mission in Japan, when he served as Consul General of the USSR and then the Russian Federation in Sapporo city. According to him, Abdurazakov was a respected and close friend of the Japanese.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Alikbek Dzhekshenkulov warmly recalled the influence of I. Abdurazakov on his choice of a professional diplomat:
“His outstanding achievements have not yet been properly recognized, and it is time to give him the respect he deserves. Therefore, it is worth discussing the possibility of installing a monument to I. Abdurazakov in Bishkek.”
According to Tilektesh Ishenkulov I. Abdurazakov is a national treasure of Kyrgyzstan, and his memory should be perpetuated. The speakers, former ambassadors of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Sydykov and Borubai Ashirov, as well as representatives of the Embassies of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, highlighted the merits of I. Abdurazakov in the formation and development of the diplomatic service of Kyrgyzstan, as well as in expanding and deepening relations between their countries with independent Kyrgyzstan.
Former Minister of Education, former Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Ishengul Bolzhurova suggested considering the possibility of jointly creating a digital platform in the field of education within the Eurasian space. Such a step, in her opinion, will allow qualitatively to improve the level of universities and the entire educational system, taking into account modern challenges and requirements.
We thank all the participants and guests of the conference for their valuable contribution and active participation, as well as the International Relations Department for the organization.
