On September 24, 2024, the “Ala-Too” book club was established at the scientific library named after Zh. Kanimetov. On this day, the official opening of the club took place, which was attended by the Vice-rector for Scientific Work of the AIU, Professor Salidin Kaldybaev, Director of the library Dinara Nuralieva, director of the Department of Student Life Bakyt Isakzhanov, lecturer Zhanybek Abidetegin, as well as student members of the club.
The club's motto is “To love Ala-Too, need a heart like Ala-Too!”. The curator of the club is an AIU lecturer Zhanybek Abidetegin, and the president is a student of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics Kanykey Abdilakhatova. The members of the club are actively working to promote books and reading. This is a club not only of the faculty, but also of the entire university.
The main goal of the club is to popularize the culture of reading and revive interest in the library among students, lecturers and staff. AIU wishes the “Ala-Too” club success in its future activities!
