On June 21, 2024 Ala-Too International University (AIU) hosted a conference dedicated to a great scientific achievement – the Eurasian Journal of Business and Economics (EJBE) is officially included in Scopus, one of the world's leading databases on abstracts and citations of scientific research.
EJBE is the first journal in Kyrgyzstan indexed in Scopus in the field of business, economics, and social sciences, and the second in the whole country.
This success represents a key milestone for EJBE, reflecting the journal's commitment to publishing quality research in business and economics.
Scopus is renowned for its rigorous selection process, accepting only the most influential and high-impact journals in various disciplines.
Inclusion in Scopus is highly appreciated and significantly enhances academic recognition and career advancement worldwide. Every year, thousands of journals are evaluated for inclusion in Scopus, and only a few of them meet strict technical criteria.
The AIU’s EJBE journal is an authoritative academic publication dedicated to the dissemination of knowledge in the field of business and economics throughout Eurasia. Since its founding in 2008, EJBE has provided a platform for scientists, researchers and practitioners around the world to publish innovative works. The journal also promotes cooperation and communication between scientists and practitioners interested in Eurasian business and economics, emphasizing the international diversity of participants.
In its first 33 issues, EJBE received 2,447 applications from authors from 83 countries, of which 232 articles from 38 countries were published (the acceptance rate was 9%). In addition, EJBE has an international editorial advisory board consisting of 36 scientists from 15 different countries, including members who have worked in Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan, and continue to contribute to the scientific community of Kyrgyzstan.
Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it is an exemplary journal conforming to international academic standards, published in English in Central Asia.
In addition, Scopus has included EJBE in the list of the most reputable business and economic indexes in the world, such as the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Quality List and the American Economic Association's EconLit. In addition, it is indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RISC), which is an important indicator in our region. According to the RSCI indicators, EJBE ranks first among Central Asian scientific peer-reviewed journals in their fields, with a five-year impact factor of 0.517.
In addition, the National Attestation Commission under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic recognizes EJBE as the journal with the highest rating in Kyrgyzstan.
The articles published in EJBE have had a significant impact and attracted the attention of scientists around the world. As of May 2024, EJBE publications were cited in 1,507 articles from 115 countries indexed in Scopus. The total number of citations in Google Scholar has reached 6,900, reflecting the wide recognition of the journal in the academic community and the significant contribution of its research results to science.
Inclusion in Scopus will significantly increase the recognition and accessibility of its articles, making it easier for researchers and practitioners around the world to find and cite. This achievement also increases the recognition of the AIU and Kyrgyzstan in the global research community.
We also want to note that AIU took the second place in the National Ranking of universities in the Kyrgyz Republic. This result testifies to the continued leadership of the AIU in the field of education and science.
