On September 17, 2024, Alexander Diener, Professor of Geography and ATMO at the University of Kansas, gave a guest lecture for students of the Department of International Relations on the topic “Central Asia’s Borders: Levers of Diplomacy and Para-Diplomacy”. The topic aroused great interest and proved useful for students preparing for a career in diplomacy.
In addition, Professor Diener met with researchers, faculty members, as well as the members of the Silk Road Research Center of AIU. The main purpose of the visit was to establish professional ties and cooperation. AIU expresses gratitude to the professor for his visit and fascinating lecture.
