On September 23, 1989, the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR adopted the law “On the State Language of the Kyrgyz SSR”, assigning the Kyrgyz language the status of the state language. Since then, September 23 has been celebrated annually as Kyrgyz Language Day.
On September 24, 2024, the AIU hosted a solemn event dedicated to the Day of the State Language of the Kyrgyz Republic. The organizers were the Interfaculty Department of State Disciplines and the Student Life Department, with the active participation of students and lecturers.
The event began with welcoming words from the rector of the AIU, Associate Professor Zhyldyzbek Zhakshylykov and Vice-rector for Social Affairs and the State language Semetey Abdrakhmanov.
Then the akyn improviser Chyngyzkhan Kozhoshev glorified the state language and gave the audience a great mood. The program also included performances by the “Agama” dance group and the musical ensemble “Kaibar”, who demonstrated their talents. Famous singer Omar Zhanyshov performed his popular songs live. In addition, various entertainment games were organized as part of the event. A book fair was held on the same day.
