The first guest of the project was the expert Ruslan Akmatbek. The aim of the project is to provide an open critical assessment of the university's activities and discuss its prospects from a far-sighted point of view.
Ruslan Akmatbek, an experienced business specialist, proposed new approaches to the integration of business and educational institutions. During the meeting, important topics were touched upon, in particular, the issues of combining science and business. The expert stressed the need for innovation and effective development through partnership of the scientific potential of universities with the commercial sector. He noted that the level of cooperation between business and science is quite high, but requires further development. Ideas were proposed on the role of the business sector in supporting scientific activities.
The contribution of universities to the development of the nation was also discussed. The expert stressed that universities play a key role in the formation of national identity, culture and public consciousness through education. The education of social values has been designated as one of the main goals of the university.
Another important aspect was the discussion of the critical assessment of the university's activities. Ruslan Akmatbek proposed to focus scientific and educational work on achieving results that benefit society and fulfill the social mission of the university. It was also proposed to make the activities of the educational institution more open and accessible to the public. The expert noted that transparency in education, research and social projects will strengthen public confidence and help the university successfully achieve its goals.
As an example, Ruslan Akmatbek cited the works of Salizhan Zhigitov devoted to the role of the intelligentsia and the importance of education and culture as key values of society. The expert expressed the opinion that the university should develop even more actively in these areas. In general, the first meeting of the Critic and Visionary project was successful, allowing us to critically assess the development of the university, highlight its strengths and outline prospects for further growth.
