The Kyrgyz team won silver in CS2 in Tashkent

From October 5 to 6, 2024, Tashkent hosted a regional CS2 tournament among the strongest teams in Central Asia, the purpose of which is to develop esports in this region. The Kyrgyz team “AK BARS” took part in the tournament and took the honorable second place, winning a cash prize of $ 2,500.

The team consisted of five people, among whom was Bayas Maatkalymov, a 2nd-year student of the Graphic Design Department of the IT & Business College. According to Bayas, the team gathered spontaneously and decided to participate without serious preparation.

“We didn't prepare for this tournament, we decided to just get together and take part. After the first match, when we were in the bottom bracket, there was some misunderstanding in the team. But we quickly discussed the situation and fully focused on the next games, because they were on the way out. At critical moments, I always take a tactical pause to relax and gather myself. My parents and friends supported me regardless of the outcome – whether we win or lose.

It can be difficult to combine studies and esports, as classes end late, and sometimes training has to be postponed. Despite these difficulties, I try to do everything on time. Esports is now gaining more and more popularity among young people. I am very grateful to Frag Season for organizing the tournament and for the emotions we experienced. I hope that next time we will take first place and become the best among others.”

Congratulations to the “AK BARS” team and, of course, our student Bayas with great success! We wish him further victories and heights in all his endeavors!
