The AIU team consisting of Dilnaz Ruslanova, Alima Shermatova, Cholpon Sydykbaeva and Bermet Sharshenbieva took first place at the Elkart-FinOlimp, held on October 19, 2024. FinOlimp is a nationwide olympiad of a new format in finance, marketing, auditing and Data Science among students and young professionals.
AIU students participated in the “Accounting” direction, where five teams competed. The participants noted that during the Olympiad they had to prepare the financial statements of the company in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Tasks included: preparing the main journal with accounting entries, transferring data to a spreadsheet, compiling a statement of comprehensive income and a statement of financial position. The main difficulty for the team was the lack of time, but thanks to well-coordinated work, they managed to cope with all the tasks on time.
