On December 5, 2024, at 13:00, the Philology Department invites the groups ELL 23 A, ELL 23 B, ELL 24 A, ELL 24 B, ELL 24 C to a phonetic competition.
The students received information about the upcoming phonetic competition in advance. Poems and tongue twisters were distributed to those wishing to participate. After a strict selection of participants for expressive recitation of poems and tongue twisters by heart, they were given an additional task: to prepare a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow “The Arrow and the Song” and new tongue twisters for the competition.
An exciting phonetic competition will be held on this day, where talented participants will demonstrate their skills in various categories. The event includes four exciting rounds, each of which tests different aspects of phonetic skills:
- Tongue twisters
- Reading poetry
- Performance of scenes
- Spelling Bee (pronunciation and spelling contest)
The jury will evaluate the participants according to criteria such as pronunciation, fluency and general performance to determine the winners. The competition will begin with a special musical performance by the invited students. The winners of the competition will be awarded diplomas for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, as well as special prizes. In addition, all participants who have actively shown themselves in the competition will be awarded certificates.
