On April 12, 2024, the AIU met a delegation from Nazarbayev University (Kazakhstan) consisting of Deputy Director Yerbol Absalyamov and Chief Data Analyst of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence Madina Abdrakhmanova. At this meeting, issues of joint research in the field of AI in various areas were discussed.
There was also a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding with this university, which opens the door for active cooperation in the field of AI.
The ISSAI at Nazarbayev University was founded in September 2019, with the aim of serving as a driving force for research and innovation in the digital field of Kazakhstan in the field of AI research. ISSAI provides a framework for research, innovation and cooperation with national and international partners in education, industry and government and contributes to the digital ecosystem of Kazakhstan to promote the goals of national development.
The first steps in the joint work of the AIU with ISSAI were made at a meeting in October 2023, when Radmir Gumerov, coordinator of the Center for Innovative Development and Research, and Ruslan Isaev, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics visited Nazarbayev University. At this meeting, issues of cooperation between the two educational institutions on the creation of AI models for speech recognition and synthesis in the Kyrgyz language were discussed.
Negotiations with ISSAI will continue for joint research in the field of AI, as well as for other fields of science. We wish fruitful and successful work to the teams from the two universities on the creation of AI models for speech recognition and synthesis in the Kyrgyz language!
