“Indo-Central Asia Dialogue International Round Table”

On 30-31 May, 2022 Centre for Neighbourhood Studies Policy Perspectives Foundation, New Delhi, India in collaboration with Silk Road Research Centre, Ala-Too International University, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and Central Asian Research Centre Suleyman Demirel University, Almaty, Kazakhstan organized a two-day long International round table dialogue on Indo-Central Asia. The event took place at Suleyman Demirel University (SDU), Almaty, Kazakhstan
Distinguished Speakers and Participants were welcomed by SDU Vice Rector, Dr. Sanat Kozhakhmet. He commented that “we are geographically close, but mentally, we are quite far away from each other” and that “personal networks” are important for renewing the Indo-CARs partnership.
Regional and international experts discussed ‘convergence of framework’ and ‘convergence of interest’ ranging from multipolar world order to counter terrorism to economic cooperation. The International Round Table analysed and identified obstacles and challenges that come in the way of strengthening relationship between India and Central Asian Republics.
The delegation from Ala-Too International University: Dr. Rustam Umarov, Vice Rector of Academic Affairs and Dr. Kashif Hasan Khan, Director of Silk Road Research Center participated delivered remarks during the round table.
